Kroon Hall is a new building at Yale that is committed to energy savings to promote a green environment. The hall, which is home of the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, consumes 81 percent less water and 58 percent less energy than other comparable buildings.
The LEED Platinum-certified building generates about 25 percent of its electricity needs from solar panels installed on the building's roof. Moreover, solar hot water heats about half of the portable water.
